Friends of Stonehaven Open Air Pool to become an SCIO

The Friends of Stonehaven Open Air Pool will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting on Wednesday, April 11 2012 at 7.30pm in the Invercarron Resource Centre, Low Wood Road, Stonehaven.They will discuss becoming a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO).

It was agreed at the last AGM, in December 2011,to proceed with preparing the Friends community group to become a SCIO, and that an EGM would be necessary to dissolve formally the current constituted group.

SCIO status offers a range of opportunities to the Friends, including tax benefits, which will significantly increase the size of any donations received from people who pay income tax.Chairman Mike Robins is hoping for a good turnout.

On Saturday April 14, the Friends are also holding a fund-raising “Couthy Concert” at 7.30pm in St Bridget’s Hall, Stonehaven. Tickets, price £4, are available from Friends Committee members or at the door, and include tea or coffee.
