Stonehaven Festival & Events

Below is a report on this event in 2012.
No details available as yet for 2013

This year, Stonehaven will stage it's largest ever event. Open Air in the Square. first started in 2000 but in 2011 there was no event due to lack of volunteers. This had been a popular event which ran alongside the famous Fireballs Festival.

The event was missed last year so local hotel owner, Michelle Ward decided to do something about it this year. She is heading a group of representatives from other community groups to make this year extra special with an event headlined by The popular Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

Watch video below to see what you can look forward to.

There will be a whole range of activities including lots of attractions for children from 2pm on 31st December 2012 The Blazing Fiddles will also appear on stage and look out for a variety of up and coming acts.

A ceilidh is planned on New Years Day.

The popular Fireball Festival which takes place in the High Street going towards the Harbour will be beamed live to a large screen at Open Air in the Square.

Please note that tickets are not required to attend the live Fireballs parade but nobody will be allowed to attend Open Air in the Square without a ticket.
